PMKSY – Per Drop More Crop

Promoting Water-Efficient and Sustainable Agriculture

M/S RBP Agro Solutions & Technology is engaged in supporting the objectives of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) – Per Drop More Crop (PDMC), a Government initiative focused on improving water-use efficiency in agriculture through modern micro-irrigation technologies.

The Per Drop More Crop approach promotes the efficient use of every drop of water by encouraging technologies such as Drip Irrigation and Sprinkler Irrigation. These systems help farmers apply water more precisely to crops, reduce wastage and support better farm-level water management. The Government of West Bengal also lists Per Drop More Crop among its Central Schemes.

Our Role

M/S RBP Agro Solutions & Technology aims to contribute to the implementation and outreach of micro-irrigation solutions by connecting farmers with appropriate irrigation technologies and creating awareness about efficient water management.

Our activities may include:

– Farmer awareness and mobilisation
– Promotion of drip and sprinkler irrigation
– Support for micro-irrigation project implementation
– Field-level coordination and farmer assistance
– Technology awareness and adoption
– Support for sustainable and water-efficient farming practices
– Coordination with relevant stakeholders and implementing agencies

Benefits of Per Drop More Crop

Micro-irrigation can help farmers use water more efficiently while supporting healthy crop development. Drip irrigation delivers water closer to the plant root zone, while sprinkler systems distribute water through controlled spraying. These technologies can contribute to improved irrigation efficiency, reduced water wastage and more sustainable agricultural practices.

The Government has also highlighted the wider impact of micro-irrigation in improving resource efficiency, reducing cultivation inputs and strengthening farmers’ livelihoods.

Note: PMKSY’s Per Drop More Crop component was implemented as part of PMKSY from 2015-16 to 2021-22 and, from 2022-23, the PDMC scheme has been implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY).
